As the natural hair movement continues to elevate and draw more people's attention, members of the community are finding different ways to celebrate natural hair community and the men and women who make it great. Izzy & Liv is an organization/ brand that prides itself on uplifting women in the black community and everything that makes them unique. From hair care to fashion Izzy& Liv supports diversity among the black community and seeks to remind black women how extravagant they are. Within the brand's mission, they pride themselves on being “self-affirming, inspirational, fun, sassy, filled with pop culture references and a bit retro”.
For the supporters of the website, creator Nicole W. Brown launched the Brown Sugar Box. With a monthly subscription price of $39.95, customers receive a box filled with 5-6 products ranging from hair products to cultural driven graphic tees. The minimum retail price of this box starts at $85 but Izzy& Liv has cut this price in half to give men and women from all walks of life the opportunity to enjoy these products. The responses to this box are overwhelmingly positive and filled with excitement.

This organization/brand was created in the inner city of Newark, New Jersey. Fellow Newark residence heavily supports the company and can be seen showing off the fun fashion pieces created by Izzy & Liv. Brown Sugar Box supporter of 2 years, Aaliyah Baker was drawn to the brand after being shown some of the products by a family friend. “Usually beauty boxes like these are not so black girl friendly. I really feel like the creator of this box took into consideration, everything that black women want and need”, said Aaliyah.
The Brown Sugar Boxes have included a variety of products geared towards women of color. From natural hair products created by other Black-owned businesses to graphic t-shirts with quotes from black leaders. This box not only celebrates black culture, it uplifts the modern-day black women that enjoys diversity in her beauty products and retro style’s in her closet. The Brown Sugar Box and Izzy& Liv brand can be found online as well as on social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram. This brand is affordable, unique, and uplifting to the demographic it serves.
